Hiking on the Farmington River Trail

Today Mommy & Daddy took me for a hike on the Farmington River Trail, I picked up a nice leaf that was as big as me!

The trail was covered in beautiful fall foliage

I enjoyed the beautiful views of the Farmington River

Daddy enjoyed playing by the river too

and then it was time for me to eat - this is my subtle hint

and Daddy calmed me down while Mommy got ready to feed me

After my snack I got packed back into my seat & we headed back to the car

I had a great day!

Visit to Great Grandma's House

On Sunday we took a trip to Great Grandma Banas' house. We had a wonderful time. We had yummy lunch, and Sammie met lots her great Aunts & Uncles! Here's Sammie visiting with Great Grandma.

Lyman Orchards

Today we took Sammie on her first official outing! We went to Lyman Orchards - it was a beautiful day! Here's Sammie all packed up in her carseat ready to go.

Wow! So many ducks on the pond! ... hmmm I don't think Sammie saw those either.

And then we went home, and for the first time all day Sammie opened her eyes!

... but not for long - nap time on Daddy :) Must have been all that fresh air!

Yesterday during afternoon alert time we played on the floor. Sammie likes to look around, she especially likes faces & being talked to. Here are some pictures of her exploring her surroundings.

12 Days Old

Sammie has been here for 12 days now, and every day she changes. Yesterday we had a good day, there were lots of naps - she especially likes to nap on people.

Sammie's First Week

Wow, I can't believe it's already been a week, seems like Sammie just arrived yesterday! We went to the hospital at 4:30pm on Saturday, September 11th and Sammie arrived at 12:56am on Sunday September 12th. She weighed 6 lbs 2 oz and was 19.5" long. This is the first time I got to hold her right after she was born.

We stayed in the hospital for 2 days getting acquainted with our new addition, learning how to feed, change & give her baths. She slept most of the time in the hospital & we thought, wow this is great! Little did we know all that was about to change!

Despite all the cute, peaceful, sleeping Sammie pictures, she wasn't like this all the time - sometimes there was crying - and sometimes there was ALOT of crying. Grandma Banas came for the first week to help Craig & I adjust and boy did we need her help! It made the week much easier to get through.

Today - September 20th - Sammie had her first "tummy time" - she did a great job! Already picking up her little head!
