First Rice Cereal!

This afternoon Sammie got her first taste of solids - well, more like runny goopie-ness, but closer to solids than anything she's had before. Most of it got on her instead of in her mouth - she had fun pushing it around and letting it run down her chin! Perhaps we'll have better luck next time :)

Today Sammie & Mommy took a fieldtrip to Grandma's house in Mystic! Sammie was such a good girl, she napped all the way there in the car. This is a picture of her a few hours after our arrival napping on Grandma.

Sammie's First Christmas

Christmas Eve we went to Trumbull to Great Grandma Banas' house. We had a great time, good food, and the usual excitement of the yankee swap/white elephant gift exchange.

Sammie turns 3 Months!

Today Sammie is 3 months old. She made huge strides today in her attempts to rollover - she made it from her back almost all the way to her belly! With a little more practice I'm sure she'll be there soon... it was so exciting to watch her trying to learn a new skill! She was in such a good mood she had two sessions of tummy time - which she usually hates. She pushed herself up off her blanket & looked at her toys - more progress! :) Yay Sammie!

My quest for the perfect Christmas card picture

You wouldn't think it would be so hard to get a good picture for a Christmas card! We started on Sunday with a family shot, however after about 50 takes we gave up - this one was the best, but the cards I bought need a picture going vertical not horizontal - oops! ... oh yeah & we're practically blocking the whole tree! Sigh.

Then this morning I attempted to get a picture of Sammie alone under the tree -

she was VERY excited & all the pictures kept coming out with her eyes closed. Then Craig called and I told him about my picture taking adventure & he suggested that I put her in her little rocking chair by the tree, she did NOT like the rocking chair! I emailed Craig this picture to show him what a failure it was & this is what he sent me back!

Finally I just let Sammie have some time on the couch & she danced around & smiled for the camera & I got some good shots. We'll try one more time when Craig gets home for that perfect shot in front of the tree ... but I don't have high hopes.

Our Great Week

Sammie & I are having an excellent week! On Monday we had lots of fun playtime on her mat & went for a nice walk with our friends Gina & her daughter Abby. On Tuesday, Sammie went to daycare for the first time and had an excellent day. Mommy returned to work and worried about Sammie all day ;) but was very happy to hear Sammie did great.

Yesterday Grandma Teri came to visit & Sammie, Grandma & Mommy went shopping. Mommy got lots of new cute outfits for Sammie at Target, here's Sammie in one this morning all ready for daycare (she lookes a little sleepy because this is just before her morning nap). The little pants are pink fleece! They're so warm & soft!

Sammie's been sleeping great this week - she's down to one night feeding at 1 or 1:30am & then she sleeps through until 5:30!! Mommy & Daddy are VERY happy to be getting so much sleep.
