Fantastic Father's Day Weekend

This weekend we had a backyard campout, complete with campfire, smores & outdoor movie theater!

Bob, Steph & Gabe joined us for the camping weekend, and amazingly it didn't rain (it ALWAYS rains when we go camping).



This is our tent all set up for "night night" - Jelly Cat loves camping!

 We had movie time for the kiddo's - they watched Monsters Inc.  Their theater treats included juice boxes & goldfish crackers.

The movie viewing was much better after dark:

Sunday we had a nice relaxing afternoon.  Grandma Teri, Grandpa Bob and Great Grandma Banas came over, Craig got his wood pile all stacked (can't sit still), Great Grandma Banas weeded around the pool (she can never sit still), Grandpa Bob weeded the veggie garden (he also can't sit still) and Grandma Teri, Sammie & I got all the food ready for grillin'.  We had delicious grilled steak, chicken & veggie kabobs and strawberry banana cream pie for dessert!

Sammie gave Craig her own special father's day gift, she napped on him while they floated in the pool :)

We wrapped up the perfect weekend with a nice rest in the hammock and a walk around the neighborhood.

As far as the actual camping success went, Craig, Bob & Gabe spent the night outside, Steph, Sammie & I all slept in the house.  Sammie was too distracted to sleep in the tent, too much new stuff to look at and play with!  Next time I think we'll go back to the pack n'play method, she sleeps better in her normal "crib-like" environment.

Perfect Summer Sunday

Today was the perfect pool day.  We had a wonderful afternoon with Bob, Steph & Gabe playing in the pool and enjoying the beautiful weather.

 Gabe was trying to wear two pairs of goggles at once - extra protection!

 Sammie had a great time filling up her cup with water from the kiddie pool and dumping it out.

 The two of them play really well together.  They're great fun to watch.

It was a perfect day.
